Juanita has become my soul dog. She's in my therapy office the whole day greeting clients and lending her calm, soulful energy to the healing process. She follows me from room to room, a quiet, loving presence.   She's in the car, choosing to smoosh her tank of a body into the front bucket seat so she can lay her head on my lap vs spreading out in the backseat on her cozy blanket.  At bedtime she's in my son's bed for good-night stories, in my arms under the covers reading before lights out.  She runs through the snow like a gazelle, playing chase with my shyer dog Jude.

Aggression during feeding was only the first day.  I now feed her seperately, twice a day to fatten her up and she's been a gentlewoman since that first day when she let everyone know she was taking over as alpha dog.  She's still very interested in the cats but it's not a problem because she responds to distractions when she gets really focused on sniffing them.

Juanita is the dog everyone dreams of having. Lucky me.  Let me help you if I can to repay your gift to me.  I believe in what you and Emily and your group of volunteers are doing.  Juanita is not charity.  The charity is in the absolute devotion she gives me every day for taking a chance on her.
