We rely on our wonderful volunteers to help with many aspects of our operations. Without our volunteers, we wouldn't be able to help hundreds of animals to find their forever homes with loving families throughout the New York area.
ANIMAL TRANSPORTS
We are always in need of animal lovers with vehicles to transport animals. Sometimes we need help bringing larger animals who aren't allowed on public transportation to events from foster homes, and sometimes we need help picking up groups of animals from transports arriving in NJ. If you have a vehicle and some free time, please get in touch!
FUNDRAISING
We do not have much fundraising help, and could use the knowledge and expertise of those of you with experience in the field. If you are able to help us write grants, organize fundraising events, or solicit donations from larger businesses or corporations, we would love to hear from you.
ADOPTION POSTING
We post all of our animals on sites like petfinder, adopt-a-pet, and more, but we need help posting on sites like craiglist. We get a lot of adopters from craigslist, but don't have a lot of time to post the animals ourselves. With your help, we could get a lot more animals adopted much faster! It would take you mere minutes, and you would contribute directly to helping save lives from your couch!

MILES FOR MUTTS
Do you like to jog? We are looking for runners to help us exercise our dogs! Get your workout and help a homesless animal at the same time! We need runners to help run dogs who need the extra exercise in foster homes, and also to help us run bigger dogs who are harder to transport to and from our weekend adoption events. PHOTOGRAPHY
Have a passion for photography and a love for dogs? We need you! Our animals often come from high-kill shelters with a lack of good quality photos to make sure they get adopted quickly. Your work will be posted across all our social media platforms and websites to ensure every animal gets the best chance at getting adopted.
APPLICATION PROCESSING
We receive an average of twenty-five adoption applications a week, and we need reliable, detail-oriented volunteers to help us process these applications. This task involves checking vet and personal references and coordinating with our lead volunteers to keep the list of approved adopters up to date. It only requires a few minutes of your time, and can be done remotely!
